How do you prepare for the PMP exam? Can you share what tools you use?

I would like to share with you some of the points I have summarized in my preparation for the exam.

01\The change of mentality

As an office worker, it is difficult for me to have enough time and mood to read. Work, family, and children all require me to take care of them, making it difficult for me to have long periods of free time. During the test preparation period, I am very grateful for the support of my husband and mother, who took the initiative to take care of the family and children, which allowed me to have the time and energy to prepare for the test. I am also gradually immersed in learning, focusing on the knowledge in books.

To put it simply, you cannot pass the PMP® exam just by brushing the questions and endorsing. To really pass the exam, you need to understand the logic of thinking, and the whole book has echoes and explanations from different angles. Only by truly understanding can you integrate it into the scene questions and understand the real intention of the test questions. You need to assume that you encounter this situation in normal times, and think about how to deal with it and solve it. Therefore, first of all, we must adjust our mentality.

02\Read through PMPBOK & Dr. Wang's interpretation & watch the video

I spent a lot of time reading the PMP guide, but only once did I actually read it by heart. I started on the first page and read it word for word, marking in pencil what I thought would pass and red marking what I didn't understand. After each chapter, read it again with my markers and notes. Then, I watched the videos of Dr. Wang and Teacher Xie to deepen my understanding. It is very helpful to do this to ensure that every step is very solid. Dr. Wang interpreted the PMBOK guide in easy-to-understand language, while Mr. Xie explained the theory with examples from life, so that we can better apply the theory to life. This is very helpful for situational questions and will also have a major impact on my work.

03\Continuous brushing questions & combined intensive lectures and video lectures

Next, you need to keep doing the questions, including daily exercises, chapter exercises and special exercises. Only by doing enough questions can you really understand the content and method of the test. If you encounter a wrong question or a question you are not sure about, save it first and review it the next day. Consolidate the chapter content through intensive lectures and serial lectures. Combined with the content of the test questions, mark your own notes and draw key points. Only in this way can we gradually understand our weak points and strengthen them in a targeted manner.

04\Exam preparation sprint stage

In recent weeks, I have started taking mock exams. Since it is difficult to have a complete four hours at home, I choose to go to the study room in the library on weekends. The environment here is very quiet, which is very suitable for me to prepare for the exam quietly. I only got 121 points in the first mock exam, which made me feel a little bit lost. I thought I would pass the exam, but I quickly adjusted my mentality and there was still time. I started brushing the questions and doing mock exams, and I got 141 on the second exam, barely passing, but still happy. In the end, I took the mock exams of Caiju twice, and the scores were around 150, which made me full of confidence. I believe that as long as you keep going, there should be no problems in the exam. The teacher's finishing touch and answering skills made me prepare for the exam more attentively, especially for those question types that are unclear and the test points are uncertain. The teacher provided many skills and methods, which benefited me a lot.

The above is my preparation experience for this exam. The writing is a bit messy, but it is all my mental journey along the way.
