In this project you will learn how to use the hole feature to remove material from another shape.

  1. Drag the blue polygonal shape onto the workplane and place it in the area outlined in orange.

    Tip: You may have to scroll down the list of shapes to find the "Hexagonal Prism" shape.

  2. Did you know you can change any shape into a hole tool? Yes, you sure can!

    Select the polygon by left-clicking on it, then select the Hole option in the Inspector window at the top right of the editor window.

  3. Proceed to the next step.

You now have two shapes, but you need to group them to remove the hole material.

  1. Hold down the Shift button to select both objects, then click each shape with the left mouse button.

  2. Group them together by clicking the "Group" button in the toolbar menu.

    Tip: If the group was successful, you will see the polygon shape removed from the gray wrench

In this project you will learn how to drag, scale and copy and paste shapes on the workplane.

Add shapes to the workplane

Scale your cylinder

Copy and paste the last shape

Let's add one more cylinder. This time let's duplicate one of the cylinders already on the workplane.

  2. Press Ctrl+C (Windows) or Cmd+C (Mac) on your keyboard to duplicate the shape.


  3. Then, press Ctrl+V on your keyboard to paste the copy onto the workplane.


  4. Drag the new shape to the area outlined in orange.


  5. Proceed to the next step.

Scale the last cylinder

The last cylinder needs to be 10 mm high.
