Report Control Stimulsoft Reports User Manual: How to Create a Dashboard

Stimulsoft Reports.Net is a report generator based on .NET framework, which can help you create structured and feature-rich reports. The report designer of StimulReport.Net is not only friendly in interface, but also easy to use, allowing you to easily create all reports; the report designer can be used during the report design process and the report running process. Use of StimulReport.Net's report designer at runtime does not require any royalty payments.

The created reports can be used in both Windows Forms applications and Asp.Net applications. A variety of data formats can be exported, such as: PDF, XML, HTML, Word, Excel, RTF format, text file, CSV, BMP and JPEG format, GIF, PNG, TIFF format, etc.

The dashboard is a dimensionless area where you can analyze elements of data.
This chapter will address the following questions:

•  Create a dashboard on first run;
•  Create a new dashboard from the file menu;
•  Add the dashboard to the current report.

Create dashboards on first run

To create a dashboard panel on the first start of the report designer, you should:

Step 1: Run Report Designer;
Step 2: Select Blank Dashboard on the welcome screen.

After that, the grid of dashboard panels will be displayed in the report designer. You can place analysis elements on it.

Also, you can create a new analysis panel from the report report designer.
Step 1: On the ribbon panel of the report designer, click the "File" tab;
Step 2: Select the "Blank" dashboard item from the "New" item in the "File" menu.

Add the dashboard to the current report

The above example demonstrates how to create a new dashboard. At the same time, the current report in Report Designer will close. To add a dashboard panel to your current report, you should:
Step 1: Go to the "Insert" tab in the report designer;
Step 2: Click the "Dashboard" button.

You can also add a dashboard to the current report from the page header or from the dashboard's context menu:

Step 1: Hover over the page title or dashboard;
Step 2: Select the New Dashboard command.
