The essence of a resume is not "resume", but "skills".
The easiest pitfall to write a resume is that you don't know the difference between a "resume resume" and a "skills resume". Work experience and your skills are two different things.
Resume The resume starts from the timeline, that is, when and when the first job, what did you do, when and when the second job, what did you do, it describes your experience.
The skills resume starts with ability, and focuses on describing what you have learned in previous jobs, what abilities you have, and what problems you can solve.
So how to write a good skills resume?
Three suggestions are given in the course:
First, productize virtual capabilities.
If you have a lot of experience in the past, don't directly say how many years you have worked and how many projects you have done. Writing in this way will easily leave the interviewer with the impression that you have done many projects, but you don't know what your ability is.
You can directly extract the ability modules, such as the ability of programmers: system architecture ability, programming ability, leadership.
After each ability, write related experience.
After the system architecture capability, you can write: as an architect of a certain system, what type of framework has been built, what functions have been realized, what performance has been achieved, how much concurrency can be resisted, and so on.
After the leadership, you can write: how do you lead the team, what achievements the team has made under your leadership, etc.
The advantage of this is that it helps the interviewer to quickly confirm which competency modules you have that can be transferred, and the interviewer can quickly determine what job you are suitable for in the company.
The second suggestion is to present a "case" after each capability.
That is, based on this ability, what is the most successful project you have worked on? Tell a good story.
A method is recommended in the course, called the STAR model.
S: Situation - background
T: Task - task target
A: Action - action
R: Result - result
For example, in terms of sales ability, you have done a successful conference marketing campaign. What was the background at the time, what was the goal of the event, what actions and strategies did you take, what resources did you mobilize, and even what learning and training you participated in for this, you can write it in. Then, what was the final result. The advantage of writing this way is that through a story, your abilities are more three-dimensional and more visualized.
Another advantage is that because the story is very catchy, the interviewer will definitely ask this detail, and you can answer it in your prepared framework without being caught by sudden questions, so the success rate will be high. a lot of.
Therefore, we must disassemble the case in advance.
The third suggestion is: prepare a portfolio.
The work display is more intuitive than the case description. It is recommended that you must attach at least 3 complete works to your resume. For example, a complete plan of a project, an article you wrote, an activity process you designed, and so on.
If it is a multi-person work, remember to highlight your role and contribution in the work.
You can also write your official account, blog address, GitHub address, so that the interviewer can understand you more comprehensively.
Regarding skills, if you have the above three elements, that is, "ability + case + works", it is an excellent resume.

We have finished the most difficult part of the ability resume, so how to write the resume part?
The simpler and clearer the better, here is a reference format for you:

In the resume section, simply make a list.
hobby
Many people are very perfunctory when writing their hobbies in their resumes. They either love to read books or watch movies. This is actually a waste of an opportunity to strengthen their advantages.
An experienced interviewer can guess your true personality and abilities from your interests and hobbies.
For example, if an interviewer said that he played football every week, it would give the impression that this person should have good personal ability and good teamwork ability.
For example, if a person who is interviewing for a sales position says that he likes to play Tai Chi, the interviewer tends to think that he may not have the drive and wolfishness required for sales.
Therefore, your interests and hobbies should also be close to your ability, advantage and position, and you should not scribble.
Summarize
In your resume, you should focus on showing your abilities rather than your resume. After each ability, write specific cases and the results achieved, so that the interviewer believes that you have such abilities. This is the most important thing.
Interests and hobbies can reflect your real situation, so write hobbies that can give you extra points.
