What is AQS?

    aqs refers to the class java.util.concurrent.locks.AbstractQueuedLongSynchronizer, which is the core class of java concurrent programming. The implementation of big data synchronizers is based on this class. This class is mainly implemented by Doug Lea (Li Ergou), a set of synchronizer framework, which is a synchronizer implementation that can depend on state.

Personal opinion: Great, one person has done the work of a team, and the performance is more than n times higher than that of the synchronization lock written by the entire Oracle team, which is really amazing! .

related implementation

    One implementation of AQS is ReentrantLock, which is an application implementation based on the AQS framework. It is a synchronization method for concurrent thread access in JDK. Its function is similar to synchronized to ensure thread safety and is also a mutex. Of course, locking and unlocking are also supported, but this is all done manually. as follows:

From the dependency diagram of the class, we can see that ReentrantLock inherits from Lock, and internally defines a sync internal static class to inherit AbstractQueuedSynchronizer to achieve synchronization.

state: state is based on volatile modification and is mainly modified through cas (cas does not know Baidu or read previous articles). This state is used to ensure order, visibility, and atomicity.

AQS has two queues: synchronous waiting queue (CLH) and conditional waiting queue (Condition)

What does CLH in the synchronous waiting queue refer to?

CLH is the initials of the three inventors Craig, Landin, and Hagersten. It is a doubly linked list used to describe a synchronous waiting queue. In the source code there is a description of the CLH implementation source code map. It is mainly a FIFO (first-in, first-out) thread waiting queue, and a state variable is used to represent the current state. Of course, this state is also implemented through CAS to realize the lock.
