Intel has open-sourced a new monospaced font for developers, "Intel One Mono," an expressive monospaced font family that combines clarity, legibility, and developer eye protection.

The Intel One Mono font covers more than 200 languages using the Latin script and is available in four weights - Light, Regular, Medium, and Bold - with a default italic.

Developed in collaboration with Frere-Jones Type, the Intel brand team, and VMLY&R, the family of fonts was built with clarity, legibility, and developer eye strain and eye strain in mind.

In addition to the typeface itself, another important group was involved in the design of this glyph: low-vision and legally blind developers, who provided feedback at every stage of the design. Tested with the help of people with low vision, the Intel One Mono was more visually relaxed when reading and typing code, helping to reduce eye strain and possibly reduce fatigue, Intel said.

Intel One Mono released the initial "v1.0" version at the end of April, and the latest version is Intel One Mono v1.2, which solves the compatibility issues found when using it on Visual Studio Code.

Currently Intel One Mono can be downloaded from the Intel GitHub warehouse, in addition to the source code, it also includes easy-to-use OTF / WOFF / TTF font files.
