Mathcad is an engineering calculation software owned by PTC Corporation of the United States. As a global standard for engineering calculations, Mathcad, unlike proprietary calculation tools and spreadsheets, allows engineers to use detailed applied mathematical functions and dynamic, unit-aware calculations to simultaneously Design and document engineering calculations. A unique visual format and scratch-and-pad interface integrates intuitive, standard mathematical notation, text, and graphics into a single worksheet. Mathcad uses a method close to writing formulas on the blackboard to allow users to express the problems they need to solve, and the underlying calculation engine calculates and returns the results and displays them on the screen. The calculation process is almost transparent, allowing users to focus on thinking about the problem rather than tedious solving steps.
