DJI drone formatted recovery method

DJI DJI drones seem to have nothing to say, because there are many cases of this type. This time I encountered a special case, not because the file structure is special, because DJI has been using the MOV MP4 structure for file packaging, but because its data storage is rather special. Let’s take a look at how to restore this particular DJI drone today!

Fault storage: 8G/FAT32

Symptoms:

Common DJI drones must store data on a large-capacity card, but this case is special. It directly uses the 8G storage medium of the fuselage for data storage, and then performs a wrong format operation.

Failure analysis:

The file structure of DJI is already very familiar, so I won’t go into details again, and those who are interested can refer to the previous cases. To be clear, 100% of the DJI-type videos are fragmented (the reason has been said many times is that the preview video and normal video data are interleaved), so the general-purpose recovery program cannot be effectively restored. As shown in the figure below, you can see that no new data is written after formatting, so it can be judged that the data can be recovered.

Troubleshooting:

Use CHS Zero One Video Recovery Program Professional Edition for recovery. Since it is formatted, there are sample files, so choose automatic recognition directly. If conditions permit, we strongly recommend adding sample files when scanning, so that the program can accurately locate them according to the sample files. .

STEP1: Direct scanning, large category selection UAV video -> small category selection automatic recognition

STEP2: Wait for the scan to complete, you can see that the program has parsed out the sample file type, duration, shooting time, rate, encoding and other parameter information, which is helpful for the program to locate accurately.

STEP3: View directly after scanning, the program will list file type, video type, shooting time, camera model, video encoding, duration and other parameters. It can be seen that 7 records were successfully found, and the last file numbered 7 was seriously overwritten, and it was verified that it was not the material of this shooting.
