Restore Google browser data after reinstalling windows (the old user data still exists user data)

Background and note the premise! ! !

First of all, after my laptop was added to the domain of the company computer, the original home version was upgraded to the professional version, but the old user data still exists. It just becomes two users, and the default is the user after adding the domain after booting.

If your C drive has been completely rewritten, that is to say, the data is gone, it is impossible to recover. . .

1. Start recovery

After the new system is installed, open the desktop, right-click the existing Google Chrome icon properties, view the file start and target location: Then
insert image description here
open the user user on the C drive, and find the chrome browser user data from your old account:
Path:

C:\Users\old username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome

Tips: If you find that the AppData folder cannot be found , it is hidden, click View -> Options -> Change Folder and Search Options

insert image description here
View --> Tick Show hidden files...
insert image description here
insert image description here

Then open the desktop chrome installation directory of your new system at this time, and also find the location of the user data folder.

Generally:

C:\Users\New User\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome

Then directly replace the user data folder of the new browser.

question

If after the replacement is complete, click on the desktop chrome shortcut, open and prompt to import data error, because the version is too low.
Then you need to uninstall this low version of chrome and install the latest version. Then replace it in the same way.
Install chrome Domestic download: https://www.google.cn/chrome/

View the chrome version:
① Open the browser to view
insert image description here
② Local directory view
Find the Application folder in the installation directory, and you can see the version.
