1. Section breaks are used when paging
Reason: Although the section break can have the effect of paging , it will turn the two pages before and after the symbol into the home page , that is to say, each page is the home page , and in the word document, the default home page number is 0 (practice derived) , therefore, no matter how you change it, the page number of each page is 0 .
Solution: Delete all section breaks and use page breaks instead .
The correct way to add page numbers : Add section breaks where page numbers do not need to be set , insert page breaks where page breaks are required , and then click Add Page Number.
Process: 1. On the start page , that is, add a section break before the first text on the first page . (e.g. the cover page does not require page numbers in this case)
At this point, a section break symbol will appear on the cover
2. Paging according to your own needs, that is, inserting a page break (here we use two pages as a demonstration)
At this time, the page break symbol appears
Due to the existence of page breaks, we have generated another page, now we need to set the number of pages to 2
3. Click the header of the start page , and uncheck the first page is different . (The role is to disconnect the home page from the start page, and the home page will not be added with page numbers)
4. Click to insert the page number (select the page number format according to your needs)
5. But if you don’t want the page number to start from 0, you can click to set the format of the page number and set the starting page number to 1
