1. label label

  Labels are the most commonly used widgets in GTK, and they are actually quite simple. Since there is no X window associated, the label cannot raise the signal. If you need to get or raise a signal, you can put it in an event box, or inside the button widget.

3 The Tooltips Object The Tooltips Object

  Tooltips are text strings that pop up when the mouse pointer moves over a button or other component and stays there for a few seconds.
  Widgets that do not receive events (widgets that do not have their own X window) cannot work with tooltip objects. Tooltip objects can be created using the gtk_tooltips_new() function. Because the GtkTooltips object can be reused, it is generally only necessary to call this function once in the application.
