Revit component display and hiding: parameter and plug-in control component display and concealment operation

  1. How to control the explicitness and invisibility of different components in the family through parameters?

  Here, share it with everyone~

First, we draw a wall arbitrarily in the project, and then arbitrarily arrange a door with a door handle, as shown in the figure below:

Then, we [double-click] to enter the editing interface of this door family, click [Insert]-[Load Family], and find the folder of [Architecture]-[Door]-[Door Component]-[Handle] in the family library, (Optional) Select a doorknob to load into the family.

Arrange the newly loaded door handle, enter the plane and elevation, adjust and lock the position of the door handle, as shown in the figure below.

In this way, we have added two types of door handles to the door family.

However, a door only needs one door handle, so we also need to set the visibility or hiddenness of these two door handles.

The specific method is as follows:

Click to select one of the doorknobs, and associate its visibility with the family parameter under the [Properties] column, then... because there is no corresponding family parameter to associate, so we need to create a new family parameter (handle 1), Here I set it as an instance parameter, and friends can also set it as a type parameter as needed. The specific steps are shown in the figure.

Next, wire the visibility of the other doorknob to the family parameter (handle 2) in the same way.

OK~ We click【Family Type】to open the "Family Type" dialog box, and you can see that there are two (instance) parameters "Handle 1" and "Handle 2" under the "Other" column in the parameters that can be controlled The obvious hiddenness of the door handle!

Friends can load it into the project to test it~

  2. How does Revit quickly control the visibility of components?

Use the modeling assistant [Drawing Module] → display and hide components

  1. Select the [Component Display and Hidden] function.

  2. The components that are hidden in [Current View] are displayed in the list.

  3. After clicking Cancel √, the hidden widgets in [Current View] will be displayed.

  4. After clicking [Specify component to hide in this view], the selected component will be hidden in this view.

The plug-in wizard of the modeling assistant is just a small function of it, and there are also mechanical and electrical, civil engineering, drawing, synthesis, construction, family library, responsive [7 modules] 158 functions!
