When using the latest version of MySQL Workbench 8.0.27 , it will use ssl by default when configuring the connection. If you don't need ssl, it will report an error. The old version can choose not to use ssl . 
The new version only has three options in the red box. (Who can tell me why the new version will be changed to this?)
