Challenges encountered by DAS
NAS network attached storage
Provide file services to the host; the file system is maintained by the storage device, and the user accesses the file system without directly accessing the underlying storage
It has the mapping between files on all hosts and the underlying storage space, so this mode is very conducive to sharing
The most commonly used network sharing protocols
CIFS(Window)、NFS(Linux)、FTP、HTTP、NDMP
SAN storage storage area network
Through block storage to the host; the host accesses the block storage (LUN), and then creates files in it, the file storage is maintained by the host, and the file system between the host and the host is not synchronized, so this storage mode is not conducive to sharing, and a cluster file system is required participation, and there are deficiencies
For example:
When user 1 and user 2 access storage data, for user 2, he does not know which storage resources user 1 uses, then user 2 may write resources that cover user 1's resources
The most commonly used SAN types
IP SAN (the host can obtain the block storage on the storage device through the IP network)
FC SAN (the host can obtain the block storage on the storage device through the FC network)
The difference between IP SAN and FC SAN
Distributed Storage Networking
Organize the local HDD, SSD and other storage media of general-purpose servers into a large-scale storage resource pool, and then disperse and store the data on multiple data storage servers.
The distributed storage back-end network generally adopts 10GE, 25GE and IB networks; the front-end network generally adopts GE, 10GE, 25GE networks.
Front-end business/ tenant networking: used for connecting distributed networks and user networks, and providing them to tenants
Back-end storage networking: used for back-end storage connection
Management network: connect with user maintenance network
