In 2021, open source will be included in the national top-level plan "The 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the People's Republic of China and the Outline of Long-term Objectives in 2035", which clearly states that "support the development of innovative consortiums such as digital economy open source communities, improve open source Intellectual property rights and the legal system, encouraging enterprises to open software source code, hardware design and application services.” In the digital age, everything is interconnected, and "connection" has become an important basic capability.
Why does the country attach so much importance to and support open source? How important is open source to the industry? What value did it bring?
