Win11 office practical efficiency tips summary:
1. Virtual desktop
Although in the past only Linux and Mac systems had virtual desktops, and this function was also implemented in win10, the virtual desktop function is still talked about in win11. Multiple virtual desktops are very suitable for computer use in different scenarios.
Press win + tab to call out the task view, and a new virtual window can be created at the bottom. Different virtual desktops can be distinguished by right-clicking and setting different names and backgrounds.
Note: Tasks between virtual desktops are independent of each other.
For example, after you open a web page or minimize an application in one virtual desktop, it cannot be found in other virtual desktops. But all desktops share a file system, so when you delete, create, and save files, all desktops can see it.
2. Drag and drop the task window to transfer to different virtual desktops
This is still a virtual desktop, but because it is so important, I will list it alone.
As mentioned earlier, the tasks between virtual desktops are independent of each other , and after opening a website or application, they cannot be seen on another virtual desktop. So what if I have to use a website or application opened in another virtual desktop in one virtual desktop?
Win11 provides the function of dragging and dropping task windows to different virtual desktops in the task view window.
For example, in the picture above, the Blizzard client is now in the virtual window of Game, but what should I do if I insist on playing the game in the virtual window of Hack the box?
Just drag it in and you're done! Or you can drag the task to the position of the new virtual window to create a virtual desktop for this task alone.
3. Customize multiple web page names
This function should have existed before, but I just discovered it (stupid).
It can greatly improve the user experience that needs to open many web pages at the same time .
I'm using Google Chrome (and other browsers as well). You can customize titles for multiple different web page windows (instead of default website titles).
4. Focus focus on components
Win 11's new focused widget, Focus, can be said to be a focused weapon for the student party.
The quick way to open it is to click on the time calendar in the lower right corner, and focus with one key.
Its interface is very simple, it is a countdown timer. You can customize the focus time and the number of breaks.
If you feel that the countdown is oppressive and you don't want to see the time, you can also not display the numbers.
And the Focus component can be combined with Microsoft's Tasks to handle tasks. You can clearly see how long you spend on each task.
And play audio with Spotify to help learn to focus.
You can also set the expected focus time per day and weekly focus plan.
It can be said to be a big victory for the Planning Party! ! !
5. Multi-option split screen
The win11 split screen function is really useful, and it adds more template options than win10.
Now in win11, you only need to hover the mouse on the maximize button of the title bar , and you can display the template of the split screen and where you want to place the current window.
It is worth mentioning that this function also has an adapted template when the screen is vertical . It can be said to be detailed.
6. Shake to minimize
This function already exists, but it is very practical, so let me list it.
Under the Settings - System - Multitasking option, there is an option as shown below. After opening, press and hold the title bar at the top of a window with the left mouse button and shake it a few times to minimize all other windows and only display the selected task.
This feature is useful when the computer restarts to restore many processes from before it was shut down.
