Alibaba Cloud Database (RDS) check space usage

The databases used in development are basically switched to Alibaba Cloud's cloud database (RDS version). It is very convenient to use, and there is no need to open the Mysql service on the local machine.

Once the online service was down, the customer came to find out, the key was that it was already Friday night. After checking the reason for a long time, at first I only knew that the error was caused by the database, thinking that the table was locked, but I checked it with Navicat on the server (the online library is not open to the outside world), and found no problem with the table; Restarted the database instance, still not working. It was only later that I saw "100.13G of storage space has been used (100G in total)" in "Usage Statistics Space". I was terrified, the amount of data grew a little too fast, and it exploded.

I didn’t know what data could be deleted for a while, so I had to temporarily expand the capacity first. Fortunately, Alibaba Cloud’s expansion is very convenient, without restarting, and it takes 5 minutes at the slowest time to take effect. I didn’t make customers wait too long, and I can also take good care of it. Enjoy the weekend life too.

As mentioned above, the contingency (lazy) solution-expansion is used on Friday night. Therefore, Monday still has to deal with the data in the table below honestly. On the Alibaba Cloud web page, you can directly view the usage of database space, including the proportion of each table.

1. From the "Console" on the Alibaba Cloud web page, enter the "Cloud Database (RSD version)", in the "Instance List", find the database you want to view, and click "More->Performance" to enter "/Instance List/One-key Diagnosis" page

2. On the "One-key Diagnosis" page, you can see the tab page "Spatial Analysis", and there are 2 sub-tabs below - "Space Overview" and "Data Space", what we want to see is " Data space", which contains more detailed content.
Here, you can see the space usage of each database we built, as well as the usage and proportion of each table space, which is quite clear.
Then, we can evaluate which watches should be targeted for "weight loss" based on the situation of each watch.

3. If you cannot find "Performance" in step 1, you can first click "Instance Name" to enter "/Instance List/Basic Information", and then click "Database Management" on the left menu to see the database you created list of.
Click "SQL Query" and enter the account/password of the database to enter the "DMS Data Management Service" page.
Then find "Spatial Analysis" in the upper right corner of the page, and you can enter "/Instance List/One-key Diagnosis".
