1. Save the graphic cover and thumbnail
1.1 Explanation of the modification of the cover image
When setting the cover image of the WeChat official account, as shown in the figure below, it is found that two ratios (2.35:1) and (1:1) cover images need to be set, and the former (cover image 1) is used for display in the subscription number list ( The cover is a large horizontal screen image, Figure 2), while the latter (cover image 2) is mainly displayed when sharing articles to Moments, etc. (forwarding thumbnails, Figure 3).

Based on the above, before making the cover image, two sizes of cover images need to be prepared. They are:
cover image 1: 900x383 (pixels) ;
cover image 2: 500x500 (pixels) .
1.2 Cover image size adjustment
Select the picture that needs to be added as the cover picture, right-click - edit, and use the drawing software to edit and modify, see Figure 4.

Cover image 1:
In the drawing software, select "Resize", adjust to "Pixel" mode, uncheck "Keep Aspect Ratio", and adjust the horizontal (H) and vertical (V) to 900, 383 respectively (Fig. 5) After setting, save it as a picture for later use.
Cover image 2:
Set the second thumbnail cover image according to the pattern, adjust the horizontal (H) and vertical (V) to 500 and 500 respectively, and save it as a picture for later use.

2. Combination of cover landscape image and thumbnail image
Use photoshop software to combine the above "cover image 1" and "cover image 2" into the same image.
After opening the photoshop software, click New, and set parameters in the pop-up new document interface:
Width: 900, pixels;
Height: 850 (that is, the sum of the heights of the two cover images);
Resolution: The higher the value, the higher the definition;

After setting the above parameters, directly drag "Cover Image 1" and "Cover Image 2" into the canvas one by one, and adjust the size and position, as shown in Figure 7. After adjusting to a satisfactory position, export the images for later use.

3. WeChat official account cover image setting
Select the combination cover image saved above when creating a graphic on the WeChat official account, and set it as shown in Figure 1:
Large cover image in horizontal screen: select the upper cover 1 with a size of 900x383;
cover thumbnail: select the lower cover 2 with a size of 500x500.
In this way, the cover image design of the official account article is realized.
