ArcMap in ArcGIS creates a fishing net Create Fishnet: Generate a grid vector file of a specified size

  This article introduces how to create a fishnet through the " Create Fishnet " tool in ArcMap software , so as to obtain the vector grid data of the specified size .

  First of all, before we create a fishnet, we need to specify the range covered by the fishnet. Here we take Sichuan Province as an example to create a fishing net within this range; among them, the vector range of Sichuan Province is shown in the figure below.

  In the ArcMap software, we select the " Toolboxes " → " Data Management Tools.tbx " → " Sampling " → " Create Fishnet " option; as shown in the figure below.

Subsequently, the " Create Fishnet " tool window   will pop up , as shown in the figure below.

  Among them, the first parameter is the path and name of the fishnet vector file we finally output , and the second parameter is the spatial range of the fishnet generated , which is the vector file of Sichuan Province mentioned above in this article; if we are not based on A specified file is used to delineate the range generated by the fishnet, then you can manually enter the range-limited data in the data box below the second parameter.

  Then, the next two parameter columns are used to set the coordinates of the origin of the fishnet (at the bottom left corner of the fishnet ) and the coordinates of the Y- axis vertex respectively; next, we need to set the length and width of each grid in the fishnet , and also It is the two parameters in the above figure ; if we need to specify the number0.2694 of fishing grids instead of its length and width, just set the next two parameters (that is, the two blank parameters in the above figure), And set the parameter fields representing length and width to blank or value.0

  Then, the next line of parameter bar is used to set the coordinates of the upper right corner of the fishnet; the next tick option indicates whether we need to generate a point vector element at the same time, and this vector element is used to mark the center of each grid in the fishnet point; the last parameter indicates whether the fishnet vector file we finally get is a line feature layer or a polygon feature layer.

  After setting all the parameters, click " OK " to run the tool; after the tool runs, you will get the fishnet vector file; if we check the option shown in the above picture, you will also get a point element vector layer at the same time, As shown below.

  The actual appearance of these two feature layers is shown in the figure below. You can see that the green layer is a fishing net , and each square is each grid ; each point is a point feature vector generated at the same time layer , located at the center of each grid.

  In addition, the fishnet features we generated automatically have an attribute table, as shown in the figure below; but except for the fields shown in the purple box in the figure below FID, each grid does not contain independent fields.
