    XP system users often cannot open web pages, and now we have found a solution to this problem. The reason is that an unknown virus infects the Application Layer Gateway Service of the XP system. It starts automatically every time the system starts, and generates an alg.exe process in the background. Just manually close the application layer gateway service, and then restart the system, the problem can be solved. The specific operation steps are as follows:

First try to open the Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services - double-click the second "Application Layer Gateway Service" service item - select Disabled in the startup type - click "Apply" - click "Stop" - Click "OK" - restart the operating system.

The infection caused by the virus

This situation is often manifested when opening IE, in the lower left box of the IE interface, it prompts: The webpage is being opened, but there is no response for a long time. Check the process in the task manager, (to enter the method, put the mouse on the taskbar, right-click - task manager - process) to see how the CPU occupancy rate, if it is 100%, you can be sure that it is infected with a virus, At this point you want to run other programs is simply suffering. This is to find out which process is greedily occupying CPU resources.

After finding it, it is best to record the name, and then click to end, if it cannot end, you need to start in safe mode to delete the stuff, and also enter the registry, (method: start - run, enter regedit) in the registration In the table dialog box, click Edit - Find, enter the name of the program, after finding it, click the right mouse button to delete, and then perform several searches, and it can often be completely deleted.

There are a lot of viruses, and when antivirus software is powerless, the only way is to delete them manually.

2. It is related to setting up a proxy server

Some friends, for some reasons, set up a proxy server in the browser (Control Panel - Internet Options - Connection - LAN Settings - Use a Proxy Server for LAN), setting a proxy server does not affect QQ's networking, because QQ Port 4000 is used, and port 80 or 8080 is used to access the Internet. This is why many friends do not understand why QQ can be accessed, but the web page cannot be opened. The proxy server is generally not very stable, sometimes it can be on, sometimes it can't. If there is such a setting, please cancel the proxy.

3. DNS server interpretation error

The so-called DNS, that is, Domain Name Server (Domain Name Server), it converts domain names into IP addresses that can be recognized by computers, such as Shenzhen Window www.sz.net.cn) The corresponding IP address is 219.133.46.54, Shenzhen hotline www.szonline .net) The corresponding IP address is 202.96.154.6. If the DNS server fails, the domain name interpretation cannot be performed, and the Internet cannot be accessed naturally.

If this is the case, sometimes it is a problem with the network service access provider (ISP), and you can call the ISP; sometimes it is a problem with the router or network card, which cannot connect to the ISP's DNS service.

In this case, you can turn off the router for a while and then turn it on again, or reset the router. Or the network card cannot automatically find the DNS server address, you can try to use the specified DNS server address. In the properties of the network, (Control Panel - Network and Dial-Up Connections - Local Area Connection - Right-click Properties - TCP/IP Protocol - Properties - Use the following DNS server address). Different ISPs have different DNS addresses, such as 202.96.134.133 (primary) and 202.96.128.68 (backup) commonly used by telecom.

Note: It is also an idea to update the driver of the network card or replace the network card.

Fourth, the loss of system files causes IE to fail to start normally

This phenomenon is quite common because:

1. The instability of the system is manifested by frequent crashes, inexplicable restarts, and illegal shutdowns, resulting in loss of system files;

2. The conflict of software and hardware is often manifested as the conflict of network card driver or conflict with IE caused by the installation of some programs. Since INTEL introduced hyper-threading CPU, there is a prominent problem that IE6 under XP SP1 conflicts with hyper-threading;

3. Virus intrusion leads to damage or loss of system files.

If it is the first case, you can try to repair the system, under 2K or XP system, put the original installation CD (note: the original installation CD must be), enter sfc /scanow in Start - Run, and press Enter. 98 systems can also be checked with the sfc command.

If it is the second case, you can uninstall the recently installed hardware or programs. For the 2K or XP system, after the machine starts, long press F8 to enter the boot menu, and select "Last Known Configuration". If it is an XP system, also You can use the system restore function, which can usually solve the problem quickly.

If it is an XP system due to a hyper-threaded CPU, you can disable hyper-threading in the BIOS, or upgrade to SP2. (Of course, how to upgrade XP to SP2 involves a lot of knowledge and issues to be paid attention to, which will not be described in detail here due to space limitations). In this case, the TT browser that comes with QQ can generally browse normally, you can use it instead.

If it is the third case, it is necessary to comprehensively check and kill the virus on the system disk.

4. There is another phenomenon that needs special attention: that is, the home page of the website can be opened, but the secondary link cannot be opened. If this is the case, the solution is to re-register the following DLL file:

In Start - Run enter:

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll

regsvr32 Shell32.dll (note this command, don't lose it first)

regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll

regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll

regsvr32 Mshtml.dll

regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

regsvr32 Msjava.dll

regsvr32 Browseui.dll

Note: Press Enter for each entry. You can enter the second command first, restart Windows after entering these commands, and if it is found to be invalid, enter it again, and enter the second command this time. Also, if it is a 98 system, it may be easier to download this file from Microsoft's website. The download address of this file is:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/msn...us/mcrepair.exe

Five, IE damage

If the above methods do not work, it may be that the IE kernel is damaged, and even if the system is repaired, it cannot be repaired. Then reinstalling IE is the best method.

If it is a 98 or 2K system, if the IE version is 5.0, it is recommended to upgrade to 6.0.

If the 98 system has been upgraded and installed 6.0, then click Add/Remove Programs in the control panel, a repair dialog box will pop up, select the default repair, and restart.

If it is a 2K+IE6.0 or XP system (the built-in IE is 6.0), it is a bit troublesome to re-IE. There are two methods:

1. Open the registry, expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Active Setup Installed Components{ 89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383 }, and change the DWORD value of IsInstalled to 0;

2. Insert the XP installation CD, and enter "rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132%windir%Infie.inf" in Start-Run

If it is double click to open

Right-click to see if it can be opened under resource management. It is a Trojan horse program. The removal method is as follows: 1. Open my computer, click |Tools|-->|Folder Options|-->|View|, in| In Advanced Options |, remove the check mark in front of the |Hide protected operating system files (recommended)| ------This operation is to open the hidden file display. 2. Right-click to open the hard disk under resource management, delete all the |autorun.inf| files. Restart the computer
