IOS APP design process

Abstract : The mobile platform is the next battlefield, and IOS is a very large platform. I saw a good translation about the design process of IOS. I sorted out these 11 steps according to the original text, and shared it with you. There is also a picture version. Can be downloaded and saved. 1. Determine if your idea has been done before. The mobile platform is the next battlefield, and IOS is a very large platform. I saw a good translation about the design process of IOS. I organized these 11 steps according to the original text, and shared with you. There is also a picture version that can be downloaded save.

1. Identify your idea

Has your idea been done before? If there is a similar app, you should consider it a lot, strive to surpass it and have some unique optimized designs in it

2. Locate the app

Locate through Apple's Human Interface Guidelines map

Apple's Human Interface Guidelines

3. Confirmation of core functions

Summarize and discuss the various requirements put forward, design ADS (Application Definition Statement) a statement of application definition, also known as simplified ADS, as shown in the figure

4. Product sketch

Begin to design the basic functions of the product according to the data compiled above, including the use of scenes, buttons, and display texts on the move. paper and pen is a good way

5. Walkthrough

In IOS, the switching method before each interface is also an important place, called App Functionality Walkthrough, which needs to be taken into account when designing

6. Low-Fidelity Prototypes

Use prototyping tools (Axure, Mockup, Visio), put the sketch on the computer, try to use black and white, rough lines to design, don't get caught up in the details

low-fidelity prototype

7. Takaho Makoto prototype

After the low-fidelity prototype is confirmed, you can start to tangle and details. The ios screen sizes are as follows: 320*480, 960*480, 1024*768

8. Visual Design

After the high-fidelity prototype is completed, it is time to carry out visual design. Apple advocates a graphical interface with texture and simulation. We make the interface design of the app as close as possible to the style that users are familiar with or like. Work hard on colors and icons

9. Design Concept

Due to the relationship between mobile devices, the design should be kept as simple as possible. If it is not necessary, do not put gorgeous graphics or other information to attract users. We need to make the information clear at a glance, not obscure or misleading.

10. Icon Design

ICON will determine the recognition of the APP in the Store. You can start with a simple outline and start with the core idea. Unless necessary, your icon should preferably not contain text, and try to use materials and gradients that are consistent with your app's GUI. If you want to present a high-quality UI design to users, don’t forget to design the icon in three sizes: 29×29, 72×72, and 512×512.

11. Design Deliverables

If you don't develop the functionality of the app yourself, you also need to deliver clear design guidelines to the developers. I will concentrate the interface and description into a big picture, and try to describe all the situations that can be encountered to the developer as clearly as possible. At the same time, PSD can be dimensioned, described, and saved as PNG for easy development
