MX records

MX records: DNS uses a single type of resource record to implement enhanced mail routing.

MX records initially consist of MD (mail destination) records and MF (mail forwarder) records, MD specifies the final destination of the message sent to the specified domain name MF specifies that when the destination cannot be reached directly, the MX record of the host responsible for continuing to forward messages to the final destination

specifies a mail exchanger for a domain name (a host that can process or forward mail for that domain name) .processing mail means either delivering the mail to the person addressed to it or forwarding the mail to another mail transporter
