Tomcat6/Tomcat7 cannot be added to the Servers view of Eclipse

Proposition of the problem:

    The Tomcat server cannot be added in the following ways. The ServerName is grayed out and cannot be edited.

   

How to fix

     1. Close Eclipse

      2. Open where the WorkSpace is located. {workspace-directory}/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.runtime/.settings Delete the following files

• org.eclipse.wst.server.core.prefs
• org.eclipse.jst.server.tomcat.core. prefs

      3. Restart Eclipse and all issues should be resolved.
