Archlinux partial upgrade causes firefox to fail to start
Firefox, which was used normally before, suddenly could not be started today, and the following error was reported during startup:
[oite @ oite ~] $ firefox
XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/lib/firefox/libxul.so:
libicui18n.so.55: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XPCOM.
libicui18n.so.55: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XPCOM.
Analysis of the reason: I installed several applications under archlinux today. During the installation process, some updated dependency packages may conflict with firefox.
Google found that many people have encountered the same problem. After doing a system upgrade and installing libffi, firefox works fine:
sudo pacman -Syu libffi
Install vmware-player
遇到vmware kernel module updater, kernel headers for arch version not found.
sudo pacman -Reason linux-headers
After installing linux-headers, prompt vmware kernel module updater, check See log file /tmp/vmware-root/vmware-1591.log for details.
