English midline, underline

The middle line is: hyphen, such as this one in red-headed -
and the dash answered by other comrades refers to the dash in Chinese -, which is longer than hyphen.
The underline is: underscore, such as this _ in Steven_Chen
We usually think that underline is under a word or sentence to express emphasis, which is different from this underline.
