In version 5.1, in order to solve the problem of Chinese garbled characters, when the default character set is set to utf8, both [mysql] and [mysqld] in my.cnf write default-character-set=utf8

 

Starting from version 5.5, this can be written in the [mysql] item, and in the [mysqld] item, there will be a 1067 error when starting the MySQL service, and it must be written as character-set-server=utf8
