Point picking

Several different picking operation modes are often used in e-commerce logistics centers (this article refers to non-automated e-commerce logistics centers). It should be said that each mode has its own advantages and disadvantages, and has its own specific application scenarios. Specific to each home appliance business, it is necessary to select one or more operation modes according to its own site layout, product characteristics, and order structure, and dynamically schedule various operation modes through the WMS system, in order to achieve the highest picking efficiency.
The following five order picking operation modes of e-commerce logistics centers are worth learning, namely: 1. Order picking mode; 2. Order picking and sorting mode; 3. Single product operation mode; 4. Planting operation mode; 5, 2 Secondary picking mode.
1. Order fruit picking mode The
order fruit picking mode is the most primitive order operation mode. An order is completed by one operator independently. During the picking process, the picking document can be used, or the hand-held terminal RF can be used to improve the picking accuracy. . The order fruit picking mode is widely used in traditional industries. Since the average daily order size of the e-commerce industry is much larger than that of traditional industries, unless the warehouse area is small and the product variety is small, this operation mode is generally not recommended, but it can be used for emergency Picking operations for orders and special-shaped product orders.
2. Order picking and sorting mode According
to statistics, under the complete order fruit picking operation mode, more than 70% of the time of the picking operators in the e-commerce warehouse is used for repeated walking. We have counted the walking time of pickers in a pioneering enterprise in the e-commerce industry, and found that on average, each picker has to walk about 20 kilometers to 25 kilometers a day, which is a very direct cause of low picking efficiency.
This problem is effectively solved by the operation mode of picking and dividing. In this operation mode, a certain number of orders are first combined. The specific combined quantity depends on the physical properties of the product and the volume of the picking vehicle. It can be 4 orders per car, 20 orders per car, or even 64 orders per car.
Even without any combination optimization of orders, this operation mode can effectively reduce the ineffective walking distance of picking personnel and greatly improve the efficiency of picking operations. Assuming that the order is combined and optimized with the help of the WMS system, the efficiency will be greatly improved. The principle of combinatorial optimization is mainly based on the three-level partition of the warehouse. The previous operation scope based on the entire warehouse area is converted into a "community" operation mode. Recursive combination of orders within a "cell" or even a "storage location" minimizes the work area and picking paths covered by order picking within a wave.
The use of handheld terminal RF or vehicle-mounted terminal VC is very important to improve the accuracy of picking and sorting operations. The functions of the terminal include 1. Instructing the picking personnel on the working path 2. Prompting the number of combined picking and the need for sorting for each order 3. Scan the location to verify the correctness of picking. In the case that there are not many trolley spaces, the graphical display mode can be used to enable the operator to more directly correspond to the position of the trolley. In the case of a large number of carts, the list method will be more efficient.
After a wave of picking operations is over, the packer can directly review and pack the order without the need for secondary sorting. The operation mode of picking and sorting is very suitable for e-commerce companies that operate small commodities such as clothing, cosmetics, and 3C products. A domestic 3C e-commerce enterprise, by applying this operation mode, has increased the daily average picking capacity of the pickers to 1,000 to 1,200 orders per day.
3. Single product operation mode
In e-commerce enterprises, single product orders will account for a considerable proportion. The so-called single product order means that the customer's order only orders a single product (the quantity may be one or more). For single-item orders, it is recommended to separate the picking and review packaging operations from other types of orders, and the WMS system will filter the orders in the order pool, accumulate the number of single items, and complete the combined picking operation with the highest efficiency. In the review and packaging station, after scanning the product barcode, the WMS system will automatically match an order and then print the face sheet. If the face sheet is printed in advance, the order number barcode will be printed on the face sheet. When reviewing, just scan the order number barcode. You can complete the review and packaging of the single product according to the prompts of the system.
4. Sowing operation mode
The seeding operation is an operation mode in which the orders are first combined and picked, and then the second order is sorted according to the order. The advantage is that the efficiency of picking is improved by combining picking, and the secondary sorting of orders is reduced to a small space. The more common seeding quantities are 10 orders, 20 orders, and 40 orders. 200 orders.
In order to improve the efficiency of sowing, the electronic label (DPS) technology is generally used. After scanning the product barcode, the light corresponding to the cargo compartment (order) will light up to display the quantity that needs to be planted, so that the operator can directly and efficiently complete the cargo. sowing work. But it is precisely because of its operational characteristics that the "coincident rate" of the product will be a key indicator for evaluating the efficiency of sowing operations. If the number of electronic tags that can be illuminated per product scanned is very limited, the significance of seeding will be greatly reduced. Therefore, electronic label seeding is generally suitable for orders with few SKU types or hot-selling varieties (high coincidence rate and hit rate).
In the seeding operation mode, it is very important to optimize the combination of orders with the help of the WMS system. By optimizing and merging orders with a high product coincidence rate, on the one hand, it can reduce the number of picking times and improve the efficiency of picking; on the other hand, it can improve the Seeding hit rate.
5. Secondary fruit picking mode As the
name suggests , secondary fruit picking is an operation mode in which the order is first combined and picked, and then the secondary fruit picking is performed according to the order in the review link. This operation mode is mainly to overcome the problem of efficiency decline (such as long-tail products) caused by the low product overlap rate in the seeding operation mode. Reviewers find and locate products in a narrow range based on what the order requires. On the one hand, this mode requires the reviewers to be familiar with the products and can quickly locate the products; on the other hand, the products must be barcoded, otherwise the accuracy of the order will be reduced due to errors in manual review.
