The price of the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization rose in Wednesday's session.
According to information from cryptocurrency data site OnChainFX, the top ten currencies have all risen in the past 24 hours. According to market data, EOS rose the most, climbing 18.27% in the past day. Although it is not entirely clear what is driving the price increase, the buzz surrounding the token airdrop has been circulating over the past few days.
Other cryptocurrencies have also seen modest gains over the past day. Ether and NEM gained 4.47% and 6.4%, respectively, though cardano was up around 4.1%.
In contrast, Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash both experienced small gains, climbing 2% and 1.7%, respectively.
Based on current market data, Bitcoin is gradually approaching $7,000 at press time, trading at around $6,933.08. The figure represents a gain of about $100 since the opening bell, but the cryptocurrency traded above $7,100 in Monday's session.
Writing on Wednesday, Omkar Godbole said that based on the asset’s historical performance over the same period over the past few years, the pace of the Bitcoin bull run may have slowed in the second quarter of 2018.
