Difference between VCC VDD VSS VEE VPP

In electronic circuits, three different symbols of VCC, VDD and VSS can often be seen. What is the difference between them?

1. Explain

VCC: C=circuit means the circuit, that is, the voltage connected to the circuit; VDD: D=device means the device, that is, the working voltage inside the device;

VSS: S=series means the public connection, usually referring to Circuit common ground voltage.

2. Description

1. For digital circuits, VCC is the power supply voltage of the circuit, VDD is the working voltage of the chip (usually Vcc>Vdd), and VSS is the grounding point.

2. Some ICs have both VDD and VCC pins, indicating that the device itself has a voltage conversion function.

3. In the field effect transistor (or CMOS device), VDD is the drain, VSS is the source, VDD and VSS refer to the component pins, not the supply voltage.

Statement 1:

VCC, VDD, VEE, and VSS refer to the power gathering points of chips and decomposition circuits. The specific polarity of the power supply depends on the material of the device. VCC generally refers to the C pole of the triode directly connected to the integrated or decomposed circuit, and VEE refers to the E pole of the triode connected to the integrated or decomposed circuit. Similarly, VDD and VSS refer to the D and S poles of the field effect transistors that are connected to the integrated internal and decomposed circuits. For example, it is an integration made by P-channel E/DMOS technology, then its VDD should be connected to the negative power supply, and VSS should be connected to the positive power supply.

This is how they got their name:

VCC means the power supply connected to the collector (C) of the transistor.

VEE represents the power supply connected to the transistor emitter (E).

VDD represents the power supply connected to the drain (D) of the FET.

VSS represents the power supply connected to the source (S) of the FET.

Usually VCC and VDD are power positive, while VEE and VSS are power negative or ground.

Statement two:

VDD,VCC,VSS,VEE,VPP区别

VDD:电源电压(单极器件);电源电压(4000系列数字电 路);漏极电压(场效应管)

VCC:电源电压(双极器件);电源电压(74系列数字电路);声控载波(Voice Controlled Carrier)

VSS:地或电源负极

VEE:负电压供电;场效应管的源极(S)

VPP:编程/擦除电压
