In 2017, which we have not tried our best, which goals have not been achieved?

Suddenly found that 2017 will be over in ten days!

Where is your goal? Has it come true?

But my yearly goals, my annual goals—are missing. /(ㄒoㄒ)/~~

Ke Jin'er thought about it for a long time, and finally remembered that he had written the annual goal on the spot when he participated in the annual planning course of Teacher Xiaoqiang (author of "Xiaoqiang Promotion"). Hey, I actually turned it over! come and see:

Looking at this goal, I was dumbfounded all of a sudden—poorly, I have always felt good about myself, and I still post articles everywhere saying that life without goals is not worth living, but my goals have not been achieved:

  • 2 general tools courses . This has been achieved. I did a special topic on "Programmer's Growth Course" on Zhihu Live, and a master class on "Programmer's Leapfrog Growth Guide" on GitChat.
  • Write a tool book . This has also been realized. This book is the " Programmer's Growth Course " that has just been listed .
  • Create 3 technical courses . Only developed one, the Qt project actual combat network electronic whiteboard, the others are not completed! not complete! not complete!

Cry three times:

\/(ㄒoㄒ)\/\~\~,\/(ㄒoㄒ)\/\~\~,\/(ㄒoㄒ)\/\~\~

Well, wipe my tears, I'm going to find some psychological balance:

  • Have you achieved your 2017 goals?
  • Are you like me: you set some goals and can't achieve them?
  • What's more, you have no annual goals at all?

Our article today is to talk about how to dig goals, how to break down goals, and how to achieve goals in time for the end of the year and the beginning of the year.

Some people say that if you list your goals, you may not achieve them, so you should leave them alone, so as not to find yourself unhappy. However, (piapiapia, it seems that he has just slapped his face), life without goals is really not worth living! After all, when we have a goal, we will be more focused, and we will be more effective and powerful when we take action. Besides, even if we only achieve one, we will earn it.

So, come on!

dig your own goals

Here's a checklist to help you explore your goals (refer to "Just hold back then"):

  • What do I really want?
  • What do I particularly want?
  • What kind of people do I not want in my life?
  • What do I most want to achieve in the short term?
  • What do I most want to achieve in the long run?
  • What kind of person do I most want to be?
  • What kind of life do I most want to live?
  • What do I want to change in myself to improve myself?
  • Which of my strengths do I like the most and least want to change?
  • What is the thing I value most?
  • What is my greatest fear?
  • What do I hate the most?
  • What is the last thing I want in my life?
  • What makes me ashamed?
  • What flaws in myself do I hate the most and want to get rid of?
  • What talent, gift, or achievement do I most want in others?
  • If I could make three wishes, what would I make?
  • What impresses me the most?
  • If I could do it all over again, what would I most want to change?
  • What mistakes have I done that I regret so much and want to do all over again?
  • What things bring me the greatest joy?
  • What annoys me the most?
  • What makes me sad the most?
  • What makes me feel peaceful and content inside?
  • What do I expect my child to achieve and become? (These are actually you grafting your unfinished things onto your children and discovering your goals from them)

You can divide your goals into three categories:

  • Work
  • family
  • personal growth

Each category finds several goals for itself, so that it can balance, and not fall into one dimension and crippling other dimensions.

Note that no matter what kind of goal, it’s best to come from the heart, from the inside out, and to really want it. The inadvertent sentence "You are fat" from others after the New Year's Day stimulates your goal of "I want to lose weight this year", which is probably not what you really want. There is simply no serious way to implement it.

When excavating goals, pay attention to long-term integration.

Long-term goals refer to 5-year, 10-year, and lifetime goals, which should be specific, contextualized, visualized, and perceptible. For example, you hope that in the next 10 years, you can have 15-day characteristic island tours twice a year, sitting on the beach, hugging your lover and blowing the sea breeze, and watching children play on the beach.

Combine your long-term goals with the scene. When you imagine yourself in a scene, your eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body can sense it, so that it is easier to bring emotions, arouse desire, and generate motivation.

Short-term goals must be able to be implemented, specific, executable, and related to long-term goals. It is best to work backwards from the long-term goal.

Note that both long-term goals and near-term goals broken down from long-term goals must comply with the SMART principle.

Start with the end in mind, break down the goal

To find short-term goals from long-term goals, the ability to decompose goals is required. Asking the question—what must be accomplished first in order for this to happen—helps you break down your long-term goals with the end in mind.

Let's take the goal of "achieving 15-day characteristic island tours twice a year within 10 years" as an example to explain how to use the backward method to decompose the goal.

A 15-day special island tour, a family of three, requires 100,000 to 150,000 yuan. Twice a year, 200,000 to 300,000 yuan are required. Ok, based on 250,000 this year, plus 10% annual inflation, it is expected to be 650,000 in 10 years. Your annual travel expenses should be controlled within 1/3 of the total family income, then, after 10 years, your family's annual net income should be at least 1.95 million.

After doing this calculation, you have your income target: from now, at the end of the 10th year, the total household income is 2 million per year .

If your family income is 300,000 this year, we calculate the average growth rate of your annual income, which can reach 2 million in 10 years.

Assuming your household income, 100,000 is passive income. 200,000 is salary income.

For simplicity, we separate passive income and salary income and calculate them separately and simply add them together.

100,000 passive income, compound growth after 10 years, should reach 259,000. After 10 years, your family's wage income should be 1.74 million.

Now that the annual salary is 200,000, 174 divided by 20 is 8.7, and the tenth root of 8.7 is 1.24. that is,

You need to maintain a 24% increase in annual salary income to reach your goal.

Find the means and ways to achieve your goals

Next, you can think about how to achieve a 24% salary increase this year.

It can be analyzed from three aspects:

  • within the company
  • job hopping
  • amateur income

I've put together a list of questions for each area that can help us find actions that are actionable right now and tied to our long-term goals. We start with these actions and take them step by step to potentially increase the probability of achieving our long-term goals.

The following questions can help you analyze possibilities within your company:

  • What is the company's annual salary increase range?
  • What kind of performance would get more than a 24% salary increase?
  • What achievements can be made to get such performance?
  • How is the company's year-end bonus distributed? How much is the annual bonus for the top 10% employees in performance evaluation?
  • Does the company have incentives such as stocks and options?
  • If there are stocks and options, what kind of people are distributed to, how much and how
  • Stocks, options, how much is the annual dividend of 10,000 shares?

The following questions will allow you to more objectively analyze the possibility of job-hopping:

  • What industry is my company in?
  • What is the average salary for my occupation in the industry, with the same qualifications?
  • What is the level of remuneration offered by the company in the industry, low or high?
  • What are the companies that pay better than the company?
  • What positions are open in these companies, and what kind of knowledge, skills, and experiences are required?
  • Can I match the requirements of the target position?
  • Do any of these companies have people I know?

The following questions can make you think carefully about the possibility of generating income in your spare time:

  • What are my personal knowledge, skills, experience, resources?
  • Can these resources be used for a second career to generate income?
  • Who needs my knowledge, skills, experience?
  • Can I provide services to individuals or businesses?
  • What platforms and channels can provide part-time part-time opportunities?
  • How much income can a second career bring?
  • How much time do I need to spend on my second career?

target list form

By decomposing your goals and connecting with the current situation to find possibilities that can be started immediately, your goals in 10 years will be closely related to the present. As long as you focus on the present and take the current step, you can move towards future goals.

Finally, show you a list of goals form, you can use its format to write your own goals:
