At the just-concluded Build 2018 developer conference, Microsoft announced a new feature of Visual Studio - Visual Studio IntelliCode. Microsoft calls IntelliCode a suite of AI-assisted features that improve developer productivity through features such as contextual intellisense, code-style reasoning, and execution.
IntelliCode generates recommendations by using machine learning models trained on thousands of public code repositories, and becomes more accurate as you write code. Rather than simply recommending APIs alphabetically, it gives programming suggestions based on context.
IntelliCode currently only supports C# code in Visual Studio 2017 and will expand to other languages in the future.
