Introduction to Emoji

My record: the Unicode encoding of emoji expressions, which is encoded in utf8mb4 in the database.


Emoji are graphic symbols that can be inserted into text.

It is a Japanese word that emeans "絵", which mojimeans "character". Together, it is "絵text".

Emoji was introduced by Japanese telecom companies in the 1990s and was first used to insert emoticons into short messages. In 2007, Apple's iPhone supported Emoji, leading to its worldwide popularity.
