Why do designers want to be bosses by themselves?

The development of the UI design industry will not stop in the next few years. Now the development of the Internet is getting faster and faster, and the demand for UI design positions is increasing. More and more designers have embarked on personal branding, that is, "Entrepreneurship".

Designers are really self-willed to start a business. Compared with the traditional manufacturing industry, designers do not have the risk of a large amount of capital investment in the initial start-up; and also as a service industry, compared with other service industries, the most common restaurant is opened. It is the investment of hard costs such as early decoration, rent, recruitment of waiters and chefs, which saves a lot of money.

Especially now that many cities will have some makerspaces, you can rent a work space, prepare your own computer, then you can receive customers and talk about projects to make money! There is no need to worry about the company's operating status, because you are "a company", and all expenses are only yourself. You can decide how you want to pick up the project and what you want to pick up. You can even close the studio every time you complete an order. When you go out to travel, let yourself go, and then continue to come back to design, you can enjoy a great degree of freedom in time and space.

Designers can really do what they want to start a business. One person is enough to do the design, but two people are not many. For a designer, he can do it if he has work, and he has the ability to do it alone. The big deal is to work harder in front of him, work more overtime, or find a few classmates and colleagues for help. In short, relatively speaking, he can control it by himself. , so many design studios are now started by classmates, partners, or friends.
The advantage of a designer starting a business is that there is more money and less things to do. For every designer, they feel that working in a company, most of the profits are taken away by the boss, and they only get a little salary and bonus, which is in line with the actual situation. The income of doing this project varies so much that for every designer, it is assumed that starting a business can make more money.

However, the entrepreneurial path of a personal designer is always full of thorns and challenges. Entrepreneurship has always been a life-and-death experience for each of us. Because:
it is not enough for a designer to start a business. Take us designers as an example, we usually have a certain level of technology, but once you start a business, it is a "free company" with one person and one dog. But if you want to take on bigger cases, make more money, or even attract investment, you always have to face a series of problems of expanding manpower and venues.

This will force you to at least learn some marketing, some contracts, some financial knowledge, and some knowledge of managing a team. Unlike before when you were alone, you just did some technical work and didn’t need to learn so much. Only when you really become a boss, you will definitely learn these things you didn't know before.

I hope that through my sharing, it can bring some help to you who are hesitating about the future direction.
