Synereo has released two new products to expand its R-Chain blockchain infrastructure. Special-K and Rholang are likely to have serious competition with Ethereum.
The potential of blockchain technology is almost limitless. Synereo, an Israeli company based on Tel Aviv, recently announced a major development in a decentralized storage protocol.
The company created the first scalable, Turing-complete blockchain infrastructure, the R-Chain. In the weeks following the introduction of R-Chain, Synereo has announced the release of two new components: Special-K and Rholang, which are part of the Synereo 2.0 technology stack, enabling the development of decentralized computing systems on R-Chain.
As learned from Synereo's latest blog, Special-K is a storage and content transport layer on the R chain that can transport data in various formats. Special-K is written by Rholang, a smart contract language.
Synereo 2.0's technology stack was designed from the ground up to include all the tools and infrastructure needed to create a decentralized application and service. The latest product is the result of 5 years of continuous development.
Special-K is an evolution of a DHT-like distributed key-value database. Unified Special-K API and a unary domain-specific language, allowing developers to fetch data from a decentralized network.
Synereo 2.0's technology stack offers many features comparable to Ethereum, with Rholang more prominent than Ethereum's Solidity language. The full name of Rholang is Reflective, Higher-Order Process Language, which is the smart contract language of the R chain. It not only allows parallel execution, but also executes functional contracts hierarchically in a more efficient and secure way. The company thinks this is the Java, Scala, or C# language on the blockchain.
Ethereum is plagued by DOS attacks and security issues, and the Synereo 2.0 technology stack may be an alternative. To prevent security breaches, the Rholang-based architecture enables developers to perform formal verification-based security testing and simulations. They believe that the attack could have been avoided if Ethereum's DAO was developed based on Rholang.
Synereo aims to provide a complete blockchain-based solution to shape the future economy. To achieve this, the platform is raising funds. Over $3 million has been raised in less than a week.
