Distributed file system DFS
Distributed file system (DFS) includes two technologies: DFS namespace and DFS replication. DFS namespace enables users to access shared resources located on multiple computers from one portal (a shared folder); DFS replication technology can be connected through a network. Folders on multiple servers, providing fault-tolerant and flexible file sharing and replication technology.
Today, let's introduce the configuration and use of DFS namespace
By accessing the DFS namespace server on a Windows 7 client, you can directly access the shared files on the file server
1. In Server Manager, add roles
2. Select File Services
3. Choose a distributed file system
4. Complete the installation
5. Open the DFS file system
6. Create a new namespace
7. Enter the local server hostname
8. Choose to enter the name of the namespace server
9. Click Create to finish
10. Create shared folders on the DFS server and file server respectively, and select New Folder
11. The folder name is aaa
12. The path is the dfs shared folder under this machine, OK
13. Same as above, create a new folder with the folder name bbb.
14. The path is the weijian shared folder under the file server (you can enter the host name and IP address)
15. You can see the files under the namespace
16. Turn on client authentication and access the namespace server
17. Enter an authorized username and password
18. You can see the site ysf of the namespace server
19. Log in to the site, you can access the file aaa of the namespace and the file bbb of the file server respectively
In this way, users can access shared resources located in multiple computers from one portal, instead of accessing different servers respectively, thereby improving work efficiency.
