Hu Yu told reporters that, unlike hardware such as chips and robots, artificial intelligence is an algorithmic technology that exists in a virtual world and a "digital universe", and China has a considerable number of core algorithms and its understanding of related technologies. "Some Chinese companies and research institutions are not behind the United States in terms of artificial intelligence."
The Chinese government also attaches great importance to this technological "window". The "13th Five-Year Plan" outline involves artificial intelligence.
