Navicat prompts "failed to save password error code" solution

Some versions released by Navicat are not perfect and there is a problem that the database password cannot be saved. If you choose to save the password, it will prompt "failed to save password error code -34018" when connecting.

Currently using the old version of Navicat Premium 15.0.20.1 does not have this problem, currently we recommend downloading this version.

But what should I do if I need to download the higher version of Navicat Premium for mac? The solution is very simple. Use the old version 15.0.20.1 to save the database connection password, and then download the new version to overwrite the installation, and it can be used. You can follow the detailed steps in the following editor:

1. Clear the remaining navcat keychain.
If you have connected to the database, there will be remaining keychains in the keychain and need to be deleted. Find "Keychain Access" in the launcher or application, search for "navcat" in the upper right corner, if there is a result, delete it, if not, you can skip this step.

2. Install the 15.0.20.1 old version, and connect to the database to save the password

If Navicat has been installed before, it is recommended to use uninstall and cleanup software to uninstall Navicat cleanly.

Download Navicat Premium for mac 15.0.20.1 version, and connect to the database, remember to save the password, so that the database password will be saved to the keychain.

Exit Navicat.

3. Install the new version of Navicat
Download and install the latest version of Navicat Premium for mac, and then run it. A prompt "Navicat Premium wants to use the xxxx confidential information stored in the keychain" will pop up. At this time, read the password in the keychain, enter the power-on password of your mac, and click "Always Allow".

4. In this way, the problem is solved.
