How to install telephone optical transceivers, matters needing attention in the installation of telephone optical transceivers

Telephone optical transceiver is a device that converts traditional telephone signals into optical signals and transmits them on optical fibers. The equipment has built-in precision components. Please handle with care and avoid severe vibrations to avoid affecting the performance of the equipment. If you find that the equipment is damaged or any parts are missing during transportation, please notify the after-sales service department of Feichang Technology, and we will give you a proper solution as soon as possible. Take out the whole machine and accessories from the package. When opening, please pay attention to the direction of the package box, and ensure that the front is facing up to avoid losing the accessory package; check the equipment and accessories according to the packing list, please pay attention to inspection, and check whether it is consistent with the packing list. Keep the network configuration diagram properly for reference during installation and maintenance. Next, we will introduce in detail the installation method and installation precautions of the telephone optical transceiver. If you are interested, let's take a look!

Install the whole machine on a 19-inch standard rack or cabinet. The screws on the panel should be tightened when the device is switched on. If necessary, install a pallet at the bottom of the device to support the weight of the device. Please be careful not to block the upper, lower, left, and right ventilation holes of the device. Please be careful not to have other impurities fall into the chassis. When the device falls into dust, wipe it with a soft cloth. Before starting up, use a multimeter to test whether the voltage of the power supply terminal is -48V±10% and the polarity is correct. Whether the protection ground is well connected with the equipment room ground.

Equipment installation and cable connection

1) Pay attention to distinguishing the equipment office and remote: the office equipment is connected to the switch, and the remote equipment is connected to the user's ordinary phone. Please do not swap the installation locations of the office and remote equipment to avoid business failure!

2) When installing the equipment, first place the equipment on the tray of the mounting bracket in the cabinet according to the designated position, so that the positioning holes of the mounting ear protectors are aligned with the positioning holes of the cabinet frame. When loading, it should be straight and smooth. If there is any blockage, check whether the tray or equipment is deformed. Do not use brute force to push the equipment in to avoid damage to the equipment.

3) Push the device completely into the cabinet, make the positioning holes of the ear protectors and the positioning holes of the mounting bracket of the cabinet, tighten the screws of the cabinet to securely fix the equipment and the cabinet.

4) Power cord connection:

The standard power supply configuration of telephone optical transceiver equipment is DC-48V or AC~220V. Before the equipment is connected to the power supply, please measure the voltage value of the connected power supply and whether the power supply power is within the required range of the equipment:

-48V power supply: -48V±10%;

AC220V power supply: standard AC220V±20%, 50Hz;

5) Please check whether the power switch of the device is turned OFF before introducing power to the equipment, if it is not turned OFF, please turn it OFF;

6) Check if the -48V power cord, GND (working ground) wire, and PGND (protective ground) wire are connected correctly, and whether the polarity is reversed. Note: The working ground and the protective ground of the device are separated, and the protective ground is connected to the chassis. If necessary, the working ground and the protective ground can be connected at the backplane power connection. Please be sure to solve the problem of common ground!

7) Grounding technology suggestion: The enclosure of the equipment should be connected to the protective ground. If the bureau's computer room provides a working ground and a protective ground respectively, the working ground and protective ground of the equipment should be connected to the corresponding grounding copper bars. If the bureau only provides one grounding copper bar, the working ground and the protective ground of the equipment are allowed to be grounded together, and the grounding resistance should meet the requirement that the grounding resistance of the DC working ground is not greater than 4Ω.

The GND (power supply ground) and PGND (protective ground) of the device must be connected properly, and the device can be powered on after confirming that the power cord is properly connected. If an abnormal situation occurs after power-on, please turn off the power immediately, check and eliminate it!

The -48V working power cord is a red wire, GND (working ground wire) is a black wire, and PGND (protective ground wire) is a yellow-green wire or a white wire. Pay attention to the distinction when connecting, and be sure not to reverse the polarity of the power supply!

The general location of the equipment power terminal and related warning signs are shown in the figure below:

Meaning of the digital sign:

1: Remind the installer to pay attention to the safety of AC220V power supply during installation;

2: Remind the installer that the protective ground must be connected when installing the equipment, and the color of the protective ground wiring is yellow-green;

3: Remind the installer to power on and measure the potential difference between the 2M (E1) interface shell and the cable BNC head shell before connecting the 2M cable to the device. The 2M cable can be connected to the device when there is no potential difference;

8) Pigtail connection: Unscrew the dust caps at both ends of the pigtail, gently insert the pigtail connector into the optical interface, and then tighten the fixing nut. One end of the pigtail is connected to TX (optical transmitting interface), and the other end is connected to RX (optical receiving interface).

Note: When the optical fiber of the telephone optical transceiver is connected, do not look directly at the optical interface of the device with your eyes, so as not to hurt your eyes with the optical signal!

9) 2M line connection: one end of the 2M line is connected to E1 IN (2M input interface); the other end is connected to E1 OUT (2M output interface).

Before connecting the local device of the telephone optical transceiver to the 2M line, please connect the E1 interface of the opposite device to the 2M line first, then power on the opposite device and the local device, and use a multimeter to measure the coaxial cable BNC head shell and the local end The potential difference between the 2M interface shells of the equipment. If the potential difference is zero, the grounding meets the requirements. If the potential difference is not zero, the grounding does not meet the requirements. Please check the grounding of the equipment to ensure that the equipment is well grounded before connecting the 2M line and turning it on business.
