UVM-RAL model application
(Use ralgen to generate the regmodel method, part of the enumeration variable "_e" meaning)
1. Generate RAL model command
Generate the RAL model command: ralgen [options] -t topname -I dir -uvm {filename.ralf}. Ralgen is a command of the vcs tool. The input object is a *.ralf file to generate a *.sv file. The .ralf file can be generated from an excel table. The typical register table file is as follows.
-uvm —— The generated code is based on UVM methodology
-t topname —— The name of the top-level module in the RALF file, and the generated RAL model file name is ral_topname.sv
-I dir (note that it is the uppercase of i, not the lowercase of L; Option)-ralgen searches for an optional directory list of source files
filename.ralf-contains the file name described by Ralf. After the command is executed, the file will be converted into the target ral_topname.sv file.
Options include: (For more details, please refer to the uvm_ralgen_ug.pdf file-command line command: $ralgen -h)
-B —— (Byte) generate a byte-based address;
-b —— (backdoor) generate a complete hdl_path specified backdoor operation code;
-ca —— (coverage address) generate "ADDRESS MAP" (address mapping) Function coverage model;
-cb —— (coverage bits) generate "Register Bits" function coverage model;
-cf —— (coverage field) generate "Field Value" function coverage model ;
Second, the meaning of commonly used variable parameters
The definition of some global variables and enumerations in the register model:
// Type: uvm_hdl_path_slice
//
// Slice of an HDL path
//
// Struct that specifies the HDL variable that corresponds to all
// or a portion of a register.
//
// path - Path to the HDL variable.
// offset - Offset of the LSB in the register that this variable implements
// size - Number of bits (toward the MSB) that this variable implements
//
// If the HDL variable implements all of the register, ~offset~ and ~size~
// are specified as -1. For example:
//|
//| r1.add_hdl_path('{ '{"r1", -1, -1} });
//|
//
typedef struct {
string path;
int offset;
int size;
} uvm_hdl_path_slice;
