When Arcgis (version 10.2) calculates the attribute field (Field Calculator), the problem of "There was a failure during processing. Check the Geoprocessing results Windows for details..." appears. The calculated field is a text field, and the new field needs to be based on the original Partial copy of the field or reassignment of the new field, the parser (Parser) uses "Python", the type selects string, the input field content needs to use English double quotation marks, the quotation marks can be Chinese and English, and the problem is as shown in the following figure:
Analyze the cause of this problem, and by querying some related forums, some suggest that it may be caused by special characters in the layer name, such as the "/" symbol.
After checking the layer, no special characters are found, and the name is composed of numbers and Chinese characters. Since it may be caused by the layer name, after copying the layer, reopen the copied layer or directly modify the layer name and perform the same operation. At the same time, some useless fields are also deleted (not necessary), and normal calculations can be realized afterwards.
