At this time, the VMware NATService service of the system acts as a router, responsible for sending the data packets sent by the virtual machine to VMnet8 to the actual network after address translation, and then sending the data packets returned from the actual network to the virtual machine through VMnet8 after address translation. The virtual machine DHCP service is responsible for assigning IP addresses to virtual machines.

The NAT network is particularly suitable for the situation where the home computer is directly connected to the network cable, and the office LAN environment is also suitable. The advantage is that it will not conflict with the IP of other physical hosts. It can connect to the virtual machine through SSHNAT for learning in an environment without a router, and will not affect the virtual machine IP in the network environment.

Bridged (Bridged Mode)

The bridge mode can be understood as establishing a bridge through the physical host network card to connect to the actual network. Therefore, the virtual machine can be assigned an independent IP on the same network segment as the physical host, and all network functions are almost identical to the real machine in the network.

The virtual machine in bridge mode is in the same position as the real computer in the network. In the bridge mode, the virtual machine created by the computer device is like a real computer, it will be directly connected to the actual network, logically, there is no connection between the Internet and the host (computer equipment).

Host-only (host only)

In Host-only mode, the network card of the virtual machine will be connected to the host VMnet1, but the host system does not provide any routing services for the virtual machine. Therefore, the virtual machine can only communicate with the host and cannot connect to the actual network, that is, it cannot access the Internet.
