Simulation Teaching of Bandpass Filter Based on ADS

1. Test parameters

	版本:ADS2021
	带通频率范围:3.3GHz~3.8GHz
	带阻频率范围:3.1GHz~4.0GHz
	特征阻抗:Z=50Ohm

2. Test procedure

(1) Open the ADS software and create a new project, as shown in the figure
figure 1figure 2

(2) Establish a schematic project

Click the icon shown in the red circle in the figure to create a schematic

Create a bandpass filter project

and then enter such an interface.
Insert picture description here
Click Filter under DesignGuide and
Insert picture description here
click the instructions shown in the red circle under the pop-up interface.
Insert picture description here
At this point, the entire program interface is as shown in the figure, and continue to click the symbols shown in the red circle to put into the design interface
Insert picture description here
Then select the target file under the red circle window in the figure (usually the default file is fine)

and the specific operations are shown in the figure. The
first step is to select the window under the Filter Assistant. The
second step is to set the bandpass and bandstop parameter ranges. The
third step is to click Design

After a while, the system will complete the design, and then click the function icon as shown in the figure to see the schematic diagram of the design. The schematic diagram of the editor is shown in the figure

(3) Set the microstrip patch and microstrip line

Microstrip line size description:
need to meet a certain range of
E: 10~180
Z: 20~120

Note: In order to complete the homework, the editor has already had perfect simulation results, but it has been stuck on the microstrip patch setting for a long time. Here I mainly teach you how to set the microstrip patch, but if you want to set the microstrip patch to meet the parameter range It takes a long time to debug. There is no good way here, I only try and debug again and again. At the beginning of the text below,
first return to the original interface and click the symbol shown in the red circle.

Here, for the convenience of explaining the microstrip patch that is replaced by a horizontal line, but this design is unreasonable in the actual operation. The reasonable patch range was mentioned at the beginning of this step. You can debug and meet the conditions by yourself according to the method. For the specific operation steps, please see the following series of pictures.

Set the microstrip line, the specific steps are shown
in the figure. In the second step, set the length of the microstrip line h=30mil, and the dielectric constant Er=4.4.

Finally, click OK to complete the design. Coming to the most exciting moment, S-parameter simulation

3.S parameter simulation

According to the above operation, the following simulation results are obtained. To
Insert picture description here
add the band stop range, the operation is as shown in the figure below.
First, double-click the selected figure
Insert picture description here
in the red circle and the following interface appears. Select S(1,1), then click Add, select the unit as dB, and click OK. A simulation diagram of bandpass and bandstop filtering under S parameters is available
