How many trains will there be on the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-speed Railway?

On December 3, the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed rail has entered the trial operation stage and will be opened soon. By then, it will be one step closer to the full completion of my country's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network.
Winter Olympics EMU
Looking at this deep blue and warm blue train, do you already have anyone who wants to meet to watch the snow together?

However, time has dragged us back to reality. After all, there are still more than two years before the Winter Olympics. But we still can't help thinking, how many trains will there be on the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed rail?
There is no official news yet, but a rough guess can be made based on the public information.

Currently, there are two main pieces of public information available:
1. According to the plan, the transportation capacity of the new Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway is 60 million people per year in one direction.
2. A common EMU train has 16 cars and a capacity of about 1,000 people.

Knowing these two pieces of information, the number of trains per day is about 6000w/(365*1000)=164 trips, with an average of 13 trips per hour, about once every five minutes, which is about the same frequency as the subway.

However, given that the railway transportation capacity rarely runs at full capacity, it is reasonable to make a 30% to 50% discount on this basis. In this way, it is about 50 to 80 trains a day.

In addition, we can also find some auxiliary information for side verification.
The length of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed rail is 174 kilometers. The cities with a distance of 100-200 kilometers from Beijing include Tianjin, Baoding, and Cangzhou. The number of high-speed rail trains per day is 157, 49, and 33 respectively.
Let's take a picture and see:

Tianjin has a large number of passing vehicles from Beijing to East China and South China, and Baoding has a large number of passing vehicles from Beijing to Central and South China. In the future, after the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed rail is opened, there will be a large number of passing vehicles from Beijing to Inner Mongolia and Shanxi, which is basically similar to the situation in Baoding. Therefore, there will be about 50 trains per day after the opening of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed rail.

At the end, this article is only speculation, and everything is subject to official news!
