Crust provides a decentralized storage network for the Web3 ecosystem, supports multiple storage layer protocols including IPFS, and provides interfaces to the application layer. Crust
's technology stack can also support a decentralized computing layer. Crust aims to build a distributed cloud ecosystem that values data privacy and ownership.

Since November 30th, the first phase of the Crust Network "Ark Project" incentive test network was announced, and it has been in full swing for 5 days.

Since its launch, it has received extensive attention and participation from Crust communities at home and abroad. About 544 storage nodes from around the world have joined the incentive test network. The cumulative available storage space is close to 20 PB, and the total number of validators and candidates is close to 200. Nodes are located in more than 10 countries including China, Singapore, Russia, Brazil, Ukraine, Greece, Austria, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Finland, Canada, and the United States.

Since the launch time of the Polkadot Parachain was later than the initial expectation, and in order to fully test the network and allow more nodes to participate, we extended the first phase of the Ark plan from 25 days to 5 periods to 50 days to 10 periods. , And issued 320,000 CRU equivalent rewards. In order to give back to the users who participated actively in the first period, 50,000 CRU equivalent rewards were issued in the first period, and 30,000 CRU equivalent rewards were issued every subsequent period. Each award will be issued within two working days after the end of the period.

As the test progresses, the Crust community discusses server configuration, node deployment and other test network related issues every day, and has also received some positive feedback from communities at home and abroad.

Crust node community discussion at home and abroad

We summarized the following questions:

1. Storage node workload report rate statistics abnormal problem;
2. Service node online rate requirements are too high;
3. Some extreme conditions such as loose disks may cause storage node program instability;
4. Test time period is too short, new users are too late Join the testnet.

In response to technical issues, we adopted the following solutions:

1. We fixed the known problems of the points system and open sourced the points statistics code.
2. We optimized the storage node code and increased the robustness of the storage node program.
3. We have adjusted the parameters that affect the online rate of service nodes, see Wiki for details.

Thank you for your active participation and feedback. Those who want to participate in the Crust "Ark Project" incentive testnet have time to deploy machines and join in.
