We usually use ARCGIS to open the point coordinates in EXCEL and import the XY coordinates. Just select the EXCEL file (*.xls). To open the EXCEL file (*.xls) in QGis, you need to first convert the EXCEL file (*.xls) into *csv The coordinate data can be imported only after the file. Proceed as follows:
1. Open the coordinate file (*.xls) with EXCEL and save it as a *.csv file.
2. Open QGis, layer-->add layer-->add text data layer, select the following three items, the coordinate system is determined according to your needs
3. After clicking Add, the coordinate data is successfully imported into QGis.
