He saved one or two years of national collections a year, and won the world gold medal in his second year. What experience does he have worth learning from?

Hello, everyone, I’m Li Letian, and I won the gold medal in this IChO with the sixth place in the world.

This year's IChO was changed to be conducted remotely due to the epidemic, so we took the theory test online on July 25 after a week of training at Zhengzhou University. Thank you very much to the teachers of Zhengzhou University. They had a tight time preparing for this event, but the final preparations were quite successful. The ten-day life at Zhengzhou University was quite comfortable. At the same time, they completed the final investigation in a targeted manner through training. Fill in the gaps. The four of our team members got along very well, got acquainted quickly and became friends.

A few days before the competition, Teacher Duan, Teacher Wang, and Teacher Pei from the Chemistry Society also came to Zhengzhou to teach us the points of attention in the exam, and let us relax and take the exam calmly. Several teachers were very busy in the days before and after our competition, first translating theoretical test questions for perfection, and finally trying their best to coordinate the scores for us. Until 3 o'clock in the morning on the 29th, Mr. Wang also won the precious 5 points for us. This was the thing that moved and impressed me the most in this competition.

The test questions of IChO theory are still relatively basic as always, and even this year's question is too simple to be unexpected. In the preliminary questions, the test points such as dynamics and linear fitting are not investigated at the end. In fact, in recent years, including our domestic preliminary and finals, the difficulty has also been declining, and it has become more inclined to examine basic content.

As for this year's IChO topic, there should be no problem that can get our Chinese players stuck. The main problem is whether the details are perfect. In fact, my condition is not very good this time. A coefficient of 2 was missing for a thermodynamics problem at the beginning, but this problem was still found during the inspection. As a result, when I finally made up the coefficient, I was a little anxious, but there was still a problem with the coefficient, which was not made up. For small details like this, I still have one or two. In fact, it is the last little bit that the masters are tricking, so with the basic knowledge, the details determine success or failure.

It’s been more than two years since I have studied chemistry competition. It seems that I have gone a long way from the initial development to today’s international gold medal. But when I think back to the past two years or so carefully, there is actually no ups and downs, just step by step step by step smoothly, and there is no wind or rain. Looking at my three teammates again, they seem to be the same, and they have not grown three heads and six arms.

To enter the national team and win the international gold medal requires some luck and intelligence, but if you just want to win the national gold medal, you can do it with persistence and hard work. Don't underestimate your ability. Of course, it is easy to say, but self-discipline for one or two years is not simple. But to develop a good habit and maintain high interest and enthusiasm is probably the best way to persist. In fact, in my opinion, learning chemistry competition every day is definitely not a chore.

After finishing my homework every day, I thought, um, I finally finished it and I can start studying chemistry again. Many chemistry textbooks are very messy. Reorganizing them to form a complete context is what I like to do. I will also be fascinated by the final self-consistent and beautiful knowledge system. Sometimes, what new discoveries are made will be shared with partners who study and compete together. Such a study and life will not be an ascetic day, but rather happy and efficient.

Finally, give some suggestions to students preparing for the preliminary contest.

In fact, the only questions with a certain degree of difficulty in the preliminary contest are the last two questions of element inference and organic. Other questions basically have fixed routines.

1. For example, for crystal problems, clearly distinguish the concepts of crystal system, crystal family, lattice type, structural element, crystal type, etc., master a little knowledge of solid geometry, calculate some parameters in the unit cell, and finally master the crystal density formula. As far as the difficulty of the preliminary contest is concerned, there will be almost no deductions.

Inorganic basic theories, coordination chemistry, polymers, crystals, calculations, symmetry, and organic foundations, these contents are all part of a day that can definitely be reviewed in one day (after all, everyone has reviewed them). It is almost impossible to deduct points.

2. The last two questions of element inference and organicity mentioned above require a certain amount of accumulation, and there is not much time in the preliminary round, and there is no need to deepen and harden these two pieces, consolidate your existing knowledge, and accumulate appropriately Some, just a little expansion on existing knowledge.

3. Don't panic in the final exam, keep a good attitude, just what level you have in the test, you don't have to think about extraordinary performance. Then pay attention to details. Generally speaking, 5% of errors can be tolerated. Of course, if you want to pursue rankings, the lower the ratio, the better; when training, you still have to be strict with yourself and pursue full marks, and you may get 95 points in the end.

Finally, I would like to thank the competition coaches Chen Jun and Fang Wenbin, who have helped me a lot. It was you who inspired my chemistry competition and taught me carefully when I was confused. I hope I live up to the expectations of you, your parents and the school.
