Share my PMP learning journey

In November 2020, I finally obtained my favorite PMP certificate. I was very excited. I learned from my hard work. I am also very grateful to the 51CTO staff, especially Mr. An Wang, for their tireless teaching and learning through the PMP system. Not only has he obtained the certificate, he has also made a fundamental change in his understanding of project management while enriching his project management knowledge system. Below I will give a brief sharing on the learning journey of these two months, hoping to give reference to the brothers and sisters who are earning value for PMP learning or about to prepare to learn.
By 2020, I have been working for more than 15 years, and I have been engaged in project management for more than 10 years. Perhaps it is due to the inertia of human nature. Just like McGregor’s X theory, the importance of PMP certification has not been recognized during the project management work. It is not important to have the certificate. As long as you can manage the project, let the leader think that you have it. This ability will do. With the passage of time and entering the age of confidence, I feel the inexplicable panic and emptiness. The fundamental reason is that I have limited knowledge and I have not been able to get a handy certification to deal with today’s competitive environment. As a result, in order not to let this kind of panic aggravate in the future, the PMP application was included in the 2020 study plan.
After a simple comprehensive evaluation, I chose 51CTO. The class guide assigned me to 12 intensive classes. According to the teaching plan of Teacher Wang An, I conducted video learning. During the learning process, I discovered the projects I used before. The management methods are all "wild roads". After realizing the power of PMP, my interest in learning suddenly increased and I started to study independently for 2 hours a day. After finishing the video study, I read another edition of Dr. Wang's book and found that my previous project management plan was always unable to keep up with the changes because of poor planning, unclear risk identification, random changes, etc. I learned a lot from the whole PMP study.
Entering the stage of brushing questions, although I have watched the video and Dr. Wang's book, and have some project management experience, after brushing a set of simulation questions, my confidence was severely hit. I kept it at 110 for the first few times. But I often cannot learn the method and cannot improve quickly. When I finish thinking about it, there is a risk of coldness if I continue. All I have consulted Mr. Wang An on this issue, and combined with Mr. Wang An’s teaching, I comprehensively analyzed the root cause, which is my project experience. In the follow-up, after I slowly and subconsciously forget about the project experience, the score basically stabilized to about 125 points. , But there is still a certain distance to pass the PMP, but the exam is approaching.
After a short period of adjustment, I walked into the examination room in a nervous mood. At that time, I was relying on the E-book. The first 50 questions I felt my head was all dumb, the questions were too long and I could not understand the questions. Space, took a long breath, relaxed, and took the 150-question exam. After 4 hours of nervousness, I walked out of the exam room nervously. I felt so bad that I might have to rework.
Although Mr. Wang An told us that it would take 4-8 weeks for the results to come out, and will be notified by e-mail, I still can’t bear to log in to the PMI official website tomorrow for inquiries. After a long and anxious 5 weeks, one morning, After waking up and seeing the chat records of the QQ group classmates, I knew that the result was finally ushered in. When I opened the mailbox with a very nervous mood and saw "Congratulations on obtaining the PMP certification", my mood could not be described in words. I failed my 2 months of study. Although my grades were not very satisfactory, I still passed. Let’s appreciate my certificate. Share my PMP learning journey
Finally, I will summarize my learning journey. I learned through the PMP system. Not only did I get the certification, it’s actually more important. It really enriched my project management knowledge system. Although I made empirical mistakes during the period, after continuous learning and slowly correcting the deviation, I still returned to the normal state. I only have to work hard in my usual time to study seriously. I will leave it to PMI, but I believe that as long as it is true After all, it will pay off. Thanks again to Teacher Wang An and the class guide for their dedication.
