A long time ago, Backup Exec had a remote agent for the UNIX server. During a period of time, the remote agent for the Linux server was cancelled. Recently, the remote agent for the UNIX server has returned.
Please follow the steps below to install Linux and UNIX server remote agents on AIX and Solaris:
Note: RALUS is an additional purchased option that can be activated by installing the RALUS serial number on the Backup Exec media server.
Note: The Backup Exec 20.6 release supports RALUS installed through the installable program downloaded here. Backup Exec versions prior to 20.6 and earlier are only supported as remote agents for Linux servers.
For Backup Exec 20.6, there is no separate download available for the Linux platform. The DVD contains RALUS, which can be found in the "Linux" folder in the root directory of the Backup Exec DVD.
It is also recommended to check the compatibility of RALUS with AIX and Solaris hosts before installation.
