How to install Cacti Monitoring on Debian 10 Buster

Step 1. Before installing any software, it is important to run the following command in the terminal via apt to ensure that the system is up to date:
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
Step 2. Install the LAMP stack.
Requires Debian 10 LAMP server. If you don’t have LAMP installed, you can follow our guide here.
Step 3. Install SNMP and RRDTool.
Use the following command to install the SNMP and RRDTool packages:
sudo apt install snmp php-snmp rrdtool librrds-perl
Step 4. Perform Cacti monitoring on the Debian system.
Use the following apt command to install the Cacti package:
sudo apt install cacti cacti-spine
During the installation process, the system will prompt you to configure Cacti with few options, you can choose from the available options. First, select the web server you want to use to configure Cacti, just like we use Apache, and then press "OK" to continue:

now it will ask you to use its web server, we choose Apache2, because this is what we are relying on Installed in the item.

Next, it will ask to configure the Cacti database, select "YES".

Now it will ask you to enter the root password of the MariaDB database.

Step 3. Access the Cacti web interface.

On the next screen, you will get a drop-down button. For this new installation, select "New Installation", and then click the "Next" button.

The next page is the login page. When logging in to Cacti for the first time, please use admin as the username and password.
