Internet media service platforms generally include the uploading, sharing, and dissemination of massive amounts of graphics, text, audio and video files, and have the characteristics of a large number of users, a wide distribution of users, high real-time requirements, and hot spots.

The first is the wide range of content dissemination and high requirements for CDN node coverage; the second is real-time, the platform is very concerned about the real-time of file uploading and distribution, and it has higher requirements for CDN response efficiency; the third is sudden, the platform is general There are hotspots and the surge in traffic caused by activities, high requirements for bandwidth and other response resources, and certain requirements for the resource reserve and flexibility of CDN; the fourth is the high complexity of the business, because the media service platform covers a wide range and users The group is very diverse, and the network environment of different users is uneven, which leads to higher requirements for the platform to optimize network transmission.

In the file uploading scenario, the network environment requirements are relatively high, which will be affected by relatively uncontrollable factors such as fluctuations in the public network and long-transfer jitter, resulting in slow speed , The low transmission success rate and other related issues.

After a customer uploads using Alibaba Cloud DCDN, the upload efficiency can be increased by more than 50%. At the same time, DCDN supports the upload of files up to 2G. As shown in the figure below, a comparison of the upload rate of a customer's uploading files through DCDN acceleration and those without DCDN acceleration. The upload rate in the blue part of the figure has increased by more than 60%, reaching more than 1500kb/s, while the green upload rate without DCDN acceleration falls within the range of 300~500 and 500~1000kb. 2. Increased request success rate under user distribution and complex network environment

When the user distribution and network environment are more complicated, the failure rate of user requests is relatively high. As shown in the figure below, the statistics of the number of user request failures seen by a customer's source site, before the DCDN acceleration, the number of request failures fell more in the 15-20 interval, after the DCDN product acceleration, related requests The number of failures can obviously fall to single digits, and the failure rate of related user requests is reduced by more than 80%. The main source of revenue is the intelligent routing function of DCDN products, which will detect the optimal link environment of the current network in real time. 3. Major events, over 10 million concurrent requests

With sufficient redundant resources of DCDN, major events can be perfectly undertaken.

More DCDN applications

There are many extended applications of DCDN products, mainly introducing 4 aspects.

First, DCDN supports IP application acceleration , which is an acceleration at the level of non-standard HTTP protocol users. It is applied to the scenario of the cell protocol service of layer 4. When some services are in the process of accelerating, the application level can be ignored, and no application level processing is required, but only network acceleration is performed, and IP application acceleration can be selected.

Second, the DCDN product supports the websocket protocol , which establishes full-duplex communication between the user and the CDN node and the CDN node to the source site, which can maintain a long-term link, so that the user does not need to initiate a request for the second time Establishing the link again can improve the user experience of the user.

Third, DCDN supports automatic switching of the source station. Usually, the source station has two original stations, active and standby.
